Strategic Planning
Collaborative Strategic Planning
Your strategy is the story you tell the world about your organization, its purpose, and the outcomes you are driving towards. A successful strategy aligns all parts of the organization, engages external partners as collaborators and creates an internal environment of creativity and performance. At The Potential Group, we have learned that the most meaningful and executable strategy rests on 3 foundations:
A compelling optimistic story of the future
An integrated story that aligns all effort in service of desired future
A story of momentum towards desired future

Lead Strategic Change
At the centre of our model of change leadership is the need for a clear and compelling generative purpose for the work. All changes big and small have purpose, but so often leaders neglect to articulate the intention of the work and the intended benefits. Leaders often speak about implementing new information systems, curriculum, or practices without foregrounding the hope and opportunity that comes with it.
We teach leaders how to frame everything they do in the context of meaningful purpose. This involves co-creating visions with a community of people who become change agents, designing a set of priorities that are powerful guideposts, and then supporting leaders and teams across the enterprise to find their own ways of bringing the intentions of the vision and priorities to life within their own spheres. We call this a “many boats, one light” approach where the light is clear, and each part of an organization or system finds their own ways of working and innovating towards the common goals.
Our change leadership process is then focused on paying attention to movement and momentum, learning what is working, and adapting plans and approaches as the work unfolds, and as the systems around the organization or team evolves. Leaders who work with us are in a continuous process of scanning around them to identify opportunities, adapt plans, identify emerging needs as they refine their strategic directions. In this way strategic plans are dynamic documents that have crystal clear directions and the adaptability needed in today’s complex environments.
